Renée Layberry is a Victoria-based writer, editor, project manager, and novice photographer, with over a decade of experience in digital, magazine, and book publishing. Whether it’s a professional or personal project, and everything in between, this is her why: communicate, collaborate, create. Trained in writing, editing, and graphic design, Rick Wood spent 16 years in magazine and book publishing with Swerve, The Beaver, and Arbeiter Ring Publishing in Winnipeg before moving to Victoria in 2014 to work for Rocky Mountain Books. In 2017 he returned to school to study marketing. A self-professed jack of all trades, Rick provides a range of support — WordPress sites, email newsletters, design, editing, content creation — to Read + Co and his clients through Crux Consulting.
Kim Herter is a Vancouver bookseller and mom. She began her publishing industry journey in Toronto completing the Ryerson Publishing program in 1998 while working at Doubleday Book Club and later at Penguin Books Canada. Since then she has worked in editorial, sales and publicity roles and still loves the book biz for the rich opportunity to discover new authors and ideas. In her current role, Kim facilitates Co-op and Marketing programs for Read + Co.
